Yup, we’ve moved! We’ve yet to take a nice panoramic view of our space, as well–a lot of our stuff’s still all over the place. But last Sunday, we cleared out a section for the very first worksop–Cold Process Soapmaking! You can view the album of photos here.
We’ll be officially open this weekend–Saturday to be exact (September 20), and we’re starting off with something extra-special. 🙂
We were approached by a collective of type artists–the Typoets, represented here by Bartek Janczak, a Polish visual artist whose insatiable love for type has brought him all over the world. He and his wife Carissa came to us with an idea for an installation, and a pop-up to bring to the type-loving public not only his 300 3D cardboard letter cutout installation, but a chance for folks to check out their cool type shirts!
So, apart from designing this alphabet to adorn shirts for lovers of graphic design and type, they’ve also started teaching kids about design and type, as well as giving away shirts to the kids they teach. They’ve started with a classroom full of kids in Tagaytay!
They’d like to continue doing this, and if you like their designs (you can see more of them here on their website), and wanna help them keep spreading the type love, do drop by our new workshop space (new address and map here) this Saturday, September 20–anytime from 1 PM onwards to purchase your very own customized Typoets shirt! Bartek will also give a free demonstration on making 3D letters, as well as briefly talk about his installation at 5:30 PM. If you’re around the area, do drop by!
See you guys this weekend! Here’s a preview of a portion of this 300-plus hand-cut 3D letters. We can’t wait to see this on the wall.
