Contrary to its dictionary definition, we figured to call our “Upcycled Saturdays” MakeSHIFT, because we want to show the world what a little creativity and resourcefulness can do in putting old items back into the classification that covers both the functional and the aesthetically pleasing–thus prolonging an object’s life–in a very non-dictionary “makeshift” definition. 🙂
An old-new wardrobe from old shirts? Check! An old piece of home decor made new by a creative new decoupaged cover? Coming your way soon! What to do with old pieces of glass? Why etch them, of course! Can old desk calendars become pretty scrapbooks? Of course!
We’ll also be posting our HQ Chronicles of specific upcycled items. If you have any suggestions, send some over our way, and we’ll see how we can make something new out of the old, and perhaps shift from the perspective of discarding being the only option for old stuff–to making something new and cutting down on the things we throw away.
Hope you’re as excited as we are! 🙂 Stay tuned for the schedule of Saturdays.
