Golly gee. The year’s really gone by too fast. It’s November, and (much to our horror and excitement) the holidays are just around the corner…with the new year not too far away! Halloween creativity was just a warmup, because now–’tis the season to be crafty!
We’ve got a whole lineup of activity for November. Apart from our regular workshops, we’re heading out to YOUR neighborhoods to spread the handmade love. We’ll be talking about the 13 Days (yup, you heard it–12 isn’t enough) of Christmas in our next post (plus a pretty hefty giveaway), so stay tuned for that.
October had some of us feeling under the weather, but we tried our best to bring you an awesome lineup–we had crochet and calligraphy among our newer workshops, plus the kiddie arts and crafts! We really had fun sharing our creative space with everyone–our last weekend had a full workshop, with 8 calligraphy participants upstairs, and 7 (that’s a record) screen printing participants downstairs (okay, since our limit is 5 for screen printing usually, we’re not making a habit of this). We’re encouraged and thrilled at how a whole bunch of folks are taking on the handcrafted vibe. We’ve even made some new friends with the good folks of Craft Coffee Workshop and Katipunan Craft Beer (we all share that whole “craft-y” title), so well, lift your teacups (mugs, beers) for a big “cheers” for the handmade.
Let’s continue on to November, shall we? So what’s new? Well, we’ve got new kiddie workshops, with a pretty exciting flipbook one by the end of the month with Isa Silva of Artesanias Divertidas and Brendan Goco. We’ve also got our bridal workshop (yes, it’s high time I shared something at the workshop) where we get to make buntings, bouquets and boutonnieres! Our knitting class with Ruby Magturo is up this month, together with Alessa Lanot’s silver clay workshop! For screen printing, we’ve got fabric as our main medium, with screen printing furoshiki (Japanese wrapping cloth)-inspired designs, and Christmas cards for our rubbercut printing! Check out the schedules below. See you at the workshop!
