About the Workshop

Learn the traditional way of making leaf-woven decorations and toys!  Be guided through Puni–what they call the art of palm leaf weaving in Malolos, Bulacan.

In this session, you’ll learn to make at least 3 forms, as you’re guided by skilled artisans from Malolos.

Session fee is PHP 1,500.00, and is inclusive of all materials, instruction, and tool use.

    Workshop Instructor

    Marichelle Santos Bernardo is a cultural worker who has been teaching palm leaf weaving for over a decade.  This craft has been passed on to her in her hometown of Malolos, where she also holds a position in the local government’s tourism office.

    Apart from palm leaf weaving, Marichelle is also versed in her hometown’s culinary heritage, as well as in numerous other crafts, demonstrated in her involvement in both local and national cultural initiatives.
