About the Workshop

Discover Baybayin, a traditional Filipino script, through a guided experience that brings together cultural learning, meditation and creative expression.

This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the history and basic structure of Baybayin, learn how to write its characters, and practise composing names or meaningful words through guided calligraphy exercises.

The session begins with a short grounding meditation to help participants slow down and arrive in the present moment. We then explore Baybayin’s cultural and historical context before moving into practical writing exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to practise the script at their own pace and create a personal piece of writing inspired by a name, word, intention or phrase that holds meaning for them.

The workshop closes with a moment of reflection, allowing participants to appreciate both the writing process and their finished work.

No previous experience with meditation, drawing, or calligraphy is required. The workshop is open to beginners and anyone curious about Filipino cultural heritage, writing and mindful creative practice.
