About the Workshop
It’s time to get that sewing machine running! Learn how to operate a sewing machine, and get to make an easy first project of a lined drawstring bag! Each student will be using one Brother JS1400 machine.
Topics to be covered:
- Sewing machine parts and functions
- Winding a bobbin
- Threading a needle
- Locking stitches
- Stitch Control Practice
- Making a lined, box-bottomed drawstring pouch

Workshop Instructor
Marielle is a designer and multi-disciplinary maker. She teaches a broad range of crafts, but focuses on making soaps, candles, as well as working on embroidery, and sewing at the studio.
