About the Workshop

For this workshop, we will create tiny Christmas trees using Abaca fibers. Perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike, you’ll learn the process of eskoba (bottlebrush) making to make a one-of-a-kind holiday decor.
This workshop emphasizes collaborative making—participants will work together in a friendly, creative environment. Expect to learn from each other, make cooperatively, and gain inspiration through collective creativity.
By the end of the session, you’ll take home your handcrafted tree, along with new skills and a deeper appreciation for handmade collaborative craftsmanship!

Inclusions: Workshop will cover all materials and tools needed for the project, along with instruction, workspace, and a take-home mini-Christmas tree.

Razel Mari

Workshop Instructor

Raz is an object-based artist from Plaridel, Bulacan. He likes exploring and learning new processes in the realm of crafting and producing objects, dabbling in various materials and methods like ceramics, fibers, wood, and digital fabrication.
Prior to embarking on his self-driven studio practice, Raz served as a product designer at the Community Crafts Association of the Philippines, a fair-trade organization championing Filipino handicrafts. This exposed him to the myriad of local crafts and the compelling space of making handmade objects collaboratively.
He recently completed his master’s degree in Applied Craft and Design at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon as a Fulbright scholar. Currently, he is in the process of resettling himself back in his studio, rediscovering and redefining what it means to be home.
