This is unlike your regular tie-dye summer class! Level-up your tie-dyeing knowledge in this Fold and Resist Dyeing workshop, from learning the basics of dyeing to a small introduction to the Japanese art of Itajime shibori dyeing. Implement different pleating, blocking, and shaped-resist techniques to achieve one-of-a-kind hand dyed patterns. Learn the steps from preparing the fabric, mixing the dye bath, and folding variations. Each participant will have 4 yards of fabric to work on during the class, which can make 2 custom-made scarves!

The three-hour session will cover the following topics:

  • Supplies & Materials
  • Fabric Manipulation (Pleating, Folding and Blocking)
  • Washout
  • Designing and Application

No prior orientation or knowledge about dyeing is required.

Available session date for July at our Makati studio– Unit 302, 926 Pasay Road Condominium (Pamana-Languages Building), Arnaiz Avenue (Pasay Road, behind New World Hotel), Makati:

  • July 22 (Saturday) | 2PM – 6PM

Session fee is PHP 2,300. All materials will be provided. Each participant will bring home their dyed scarves and fabrics.
What to wear: Clothes you wouldn’t mind staining with dye. What to bring: Participants may also bring their own light colored (natural) fabrics (cotton, hemp, linen preferably) to dye.
