This is unlike your regular tie-dye summer class! Level-up your tie-dyeing knowledge in this Itajime Shibori Dyeing workshop, from learning the basics of dyeing to a small introduction to the Japanese art of Itajime shibori dyeing. Implement different pleating, blocking, and shaped-resist techniques to achieve one-of-a-kind hand dyed patterns. Learn the steps from preparing the fabric, mixing the dye bath, and folding variations. Each participant will have 3 yards of fabric to work on during the class!

The three-hour session will cover the following topics:

  • Supplies & Materials
  • Fabric Manipulation (Pleating, Folding and Blocking)
  • Washout
  • Designing and Application

No prior orientation or knowledge about dyeing is required.
